To develop Hong Kong into a tourist-friendly “Smart City”, public and private organisations are currently invited to join “Wi-Fi.HK”, which is jointly launched by the Government and the industry to provide public Wi- Fi service free of charge or free for a limited period of time. Organisations can benefit by the promotional effects with their Wi-Fi services information shown on the Wi-Fi.HK website, mobile app and social media, thereby enhancing their brand awareness. The Government works closely with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to promote “Wi-Fi.HK” among visitors from overseas, thereby help generate business opportunities.
